Chattanooga District Youth Meeting

q       Welcome  (Megan opened the meeting)

q       Introductions (No new folks so no introductions needed)

o      Lock IN 

§       Let’s evaluate?? How did we do? (all in the meeting were there and thought it went great, we talked about wanting more people and more activities.  We only had one gym so limited some activies.  Next lock-in at NRiver Y.)

§       Any Pictures email to Jeff (Not really...only took 2)

§       How could it be better? (Organization of more activities, not get so close on the first game...got hot and sweaty)

§       What from it can help us plan next event?  (Plan activies after swimming)

o      Elections

§       How to physically do it? 

·       Last year each group 2 votes  (Discussed doing 3 votes.  1st gets 5 points, 2nd-4 points, 3rd-3 points. Decided to keep it with each group getting 2 votes.  Person with most votes is Rep.  2nd most is Alt.)

§       List ONLINE so can view beforehand  (if applications are turned in soon enough will list so others can see.  Call youth leaders to print off info to share with group.)

§       Can groups vote from online? (decided must be present or have a rep there to vote)

§       Must be easy! (accomplished)

o      Next Event (where elections can be held)

§       Needs to be before June 1^st

§       What night best Fri Sat Sun?  (Sun after school out...May 29th)

·       Bowling  (Camp Jordan, Swimming, skating were also discussed, group voted on Camp Jordan.  Can play football, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, volleyball, Croquet or just hang out at pavillion.  Must double check and see if space available.  Korey said Jones and Jeff volunteered Tyner-orange cones; Ivy volunteered Brainerd-Kickballs;Tyner-Frisbee's and Football;  good soccer ball still needed.)

·       Worship event

·       Dance

o      Festival of Gifts and Talents  (Decided if a group enters, a youth must be main focus and a majority of the group must be youth.  Thus College and Adults allowed if in a band or something however must not be the main focus.)

q       Any other business??  (Linda brought up specifics of Rain plan for May 29th.  We elected Brainerd as the lucky recipient of a large group of strangers descending on their gym for games.  They also have 2 pool tables, 2 ping pong, and x-box room)
